Accompanied by his wife and their two children, Terry Canales filed for the position of State Representative District 40.

You and I share the same hopes and dreams for the future of District 40…and to realize them we must create quality jobs in South Texas. Hidalgo County currently has an unemployment rate of 12.3%, and as your State Representative, I will introduce legislation to boost economic development and create jobs.

District 40 is the heart and soul of Hidalgo County…it is home to our County Courthouse…and it is positioned to be one of the most important House districts in the Rio Grande Valley.

I believe we must provide a quality education for our children and have jobs available to them upon graduation. We must use our resources and our talents to show major manufacturers and suppliers that we can do the job!

We have the location…the workforce…and the desire to succeed. Job creation is of utmost importance so that we are positioned as the central player in our ever-growing Valley.

As a legislator, I will do everything to create and implement projects that will create jobs so that all of us will have viable employment, improved health services, better law enforcement, infrastructure and the best education for our children!

Terry Canales began his law practice in House District 40, and he has been practicing in Edinburg for almost six years. As an attorney, he is on the frontline of many of the problems that affect our area.
